Dr. Sidney Sternberger

Sidney Sternberger, DMD

Doctor of Dental Medicine

Dr. Sidney Sternberger received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the New Jersey Dental School (now Rutgers School of Dental Medicine) in 2008. He then completed a General Practice Residency at Coler–Goldwater Specialty Hospital in New York City, followed by a second year of General Practice Residency at New York-Presbyterian Queens.

He earned a post-doctoral Fellowship Certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Implantology from New York-Presbyterian Queens, which included advanced dental implant training at NYU College of Dentistry and Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. These extended programs provided comprehensive surgical and prosthetic experience, including implant placement, grafting procedures, and prosthetically guided rehabilitation.

Dr. Sternberger subsequently completed a prestigious and competitive three-year specialty residency in Prosthodontics at New York-Presbyterian Queens, concentrating on comprehensive prosthetic rehabilitation, esthetics, and implant-supported restorations. He was the only resident accepted into his class, reflecting the selectivity of the program and the high level of clinical responsibility entrusted to him. His training included advanced expertise in crowns, dental bridges, removable partial dentures, complete dentures, overdentures, and maxillofacial prosthetic restorations for patients with complex functional and anatomical needs, including those involving surgical defects, congenital anomalies, and trauma-related reconstruction. This residency provided extensive experience in full-mouth rehabilitation, complex restorative dentistry, and implant prosthodontics—skills that form the foundation of his clinical practice today.

With extensive experience in reconstructive, cosmetic, and implant dentistry, Dr. Sternberger provides a comprehensive range of services, including implant surgery and implant restoration, full-mouth rehabilitation, and advanced prosthodontics. His practice includes complex implant-supported prosthetics, full-arch treatments, and "teeth-in-a-day" type procedures, combining surgical and restorative expertise to deliver predictable, esthetic, and long-term solutions. He also provides high-quality conventional restorative treatments, including dental veneers, crowns, and dental bridges, supported by an evidence-based, patient-centered philosophy.

Dr. Sternberger remains committed to academic dentistry and resident education. He currently serves as a Clinical Attending in Prosthodontics in the Department of Dental Medicine at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, where he teaches advanced prosthodontics and implant treatment planning. He previously served as a Clinical Attending at NYU/Bellevue Hospital and Northwell Long Island Jewish Medical Center, and was a former Assistant/Clinical Professor in Prosthodontics at Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine.

These academic and hospital roles reflect more than a decade of involvement in dental education, interdisciplinary treatment planning, and advanced prosthetic dentistry—experience he brings directly to private practice.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Sternberger enjoys spending time with his children. He is frequently at the ice skating rink cheering on his son, Jonah, who plays ice hockey, and supporting his daughter, Evelyn, in her recreational activities. Dr. Sternberger is active in his local synagogue and enjoys learning Torah, which provides a meaningful balance to his professional life.
